How are the solar systems installed?
After taking care of necessary permits and paperwork, materials are acuired from a solar supply house. Panels are then installed on the roof of your home and connected to an inverter, meter, and the main power grid of your local utility company.
Solar technician Dave Moyer has credentials from the oldest and most recognized training organizations in the PV solar industry: the Solar Living Institute and Solar Energy International. Dave’s training courses were certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). The NABCEP is a certification and oversight organization for the solar industry. They help ensure quality work and ethical conduct.
How do DHB’s solar systems work?
During the day, solar panels on your roof generate electricity by soaking up the Sun's energy. When you’re using electricity, the solar energy powers your home.
When you’re not using electricity, solar panels continue to generate energy, but the energy is channeled through your meter to the local utility company grid. This excess power pushes your meter numbers backward and gives you credit with your utility company.
Utility company grids act as backup power sources and electricity storage mechanisms. Utility companies are required to credit you at the current retail value for power you send to their grids. If you generate enough solar energy to cover your power uses, you can eradicate electric bills for the life of your solar system.
How long do solar systems last?
As of 2010, solar systems installed by Dave Moyer had a 25-year warranty and 40-year design life.
